For five decades, the Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association of British Columbia has played a vital role in supporting and strengthening British Columbia’s recreational vehicle industry. As the first provincial RV dealer association established in Canada, RVDA of BC is proudly celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2026 — a milestone that reflects years of collaboration, leadership, and dedication from dealers, suppliers, educators, and volunteers across the province.
Since its founding, RVDA of BC has worked to advocate for fair industry regulations, provide education and technician training opportunities, promote ethical business practices, and create strong partnerships within the RV community. Today, the Association continues to be a leading voice for the industry at both the provincial and national levels.
Under the leadership of Executive Director MJ Wiggins and the current Board of Directors, the Association remains actively engaged on several key issues impacting RV dealers and suppliers throughout British Columbia.
Advocacy and Industry Representation
One of the Association’s primary focuses this year has been advocacy surrounding proposed insurance and regulatory changes affecting RV dealerships. RVDA of BC has been working closely with industry partners, suppliers, and government stakeholders to ensure dealer concerns are heard and represented. The Association continues to advocate for practical, balanced solutions that protect consumers while recognizing the operational realities faced by dealerships.
In addition, RVDA of BC remains engaged with ongoing discussions related to skilled trades, technician shortages, apprenticeship programs, and transportation regulations affecting the RV sector.

Education and Technician Training
Education continues to be a major priority for the Association. RVDA of BC recently hosted successful technician training sessions at Okanagan College, bringing together technicians and industry partners for specialized RV technical education and hands-on learning opportunities.
The Association also continues to support apprenticeship pathways and collaborative training initiatives with Okanagan College and VIU and industry stakeholders to help address the growing need for skilled RV technicians across Canada.
50th Anniversary AGM & Fundraiser
As part of its 50th Anniversary celebrations, RVDA of BC will host its Annual General Meeting and Fundraiser Event from August 26–28, 2026, in Harrison Hot Springs.
The celebration will include:
- A Meet & Greet Reception
- Annual General Meeting
- 50th Anniversary Banquet Dinner
- Golf Tournament
- Optional Sturgeon Fishing Adventure
- Networking opportunities for dealers, suppliers, and industry partners
The event is expected to bring together members from across the province to celebrate the Association’s history while looking ahead to the future of the RV industry in British Columbia.
Honouring Past Leadership
A special focus of the 50th Anniversary celebration will be recognizing the many past presidents, board members, and volunteers whose leadership helped build the Association over the past five decades.
RVDA of BC warmly invites former board members and past industry leaders who may wish to attend the celebration to reach out directly to Executive Director MJ Wiggins mj@rvda.bc.ca for additional information regarding the anniversary event and reunion celebrations.
Looking Ahead
As RVDA of BC enters its next chapter, the Association remains committed to supporting its members through advocacy, education, networking, and industry leadership. While the RV industry continues to evolve, the mission of RVDA of BC remains the same: strengthening the RV community and ensuring a successful future for dealers, suppliers, technicians, and RV enthusiasts throughout British Columbia and Canada.
Fifty years after becoming the first provincial RV association in Canada, RVDA of BC continues to prove that strong industry collaboration and leadership are the foundation of a thriving RV sector.
