Ontario’s RV Community Looks Ahead to a Busy Travel Season

As another RV season gets underway across Ontario, the momentum surrounding the RV lifestyle continues to build. Families, couples, retirees, and first-time buyers are increasingly turning to RV travel as a flexible and experience-driven way to explore the province and reconnect with the outdoors.

ORVDA’s 2026 consumer show season reflected that continued enthusiasm. Across the province, the shows generated strong engagement and meaningful retail activity, reinforcing the value of in-person events as an important connection point between consumers and the industry. While broader economic conditions and weather continue to influence consumer behaviour and attendance patterns from market to market, retail performance across the portfolio remained resilient, supported by highly engaged consumers actively exploring ownership opportunities and lifestyle products.
Building the Future of RV Technical Education in Ontario
As Ontario’s RV industry continues to evolve, ORVDA is also advancing an important long-term initiative focused on workforce development and technical training. ORVDA is currently working toward the development of a new education and training division designed to support the future of RV technical education in Ontario. The initiative is centered around creating a phased, competency-based training pathway that combines foundational online learning with structured in-class technical instruction and hands-on application.
This work represents an important step toward strengthening technician development, supporting dealership workforce needs, and helping build greater long-term capacity within Ontario’s RV industry. As the framework continues to evolve, ORVDA remains focused on collaboration with industry stakeholders, subject matter experts, and training partners to help shape the future of RV education in the province.
Supporting Access to the Outdoors Through Industry Collaboration
ORVDA recently had the opportunity to support Campfire Circle through a collaborative industry initiative focused on helping maintain access to family camp programming during a period of expansion at Rainbow Lake Family Camp in Waterford.
Working alongside member dealerships including Can-Am RV, Camp-Out RV, and Niagara Trailers, the industry came together to help secure temporary on-site accommodations that will support camp operations as the facility undergoes important upgrades and expansion work. The initiative will help Campfire Circle continue welcoming families throughout the summer season and expand access to medically supported camp experiences for children with cancer or serious illness and their families.
For ORVDA, the partnership reflects a broader connection between the RV and camping industry in Ontario and the value of time spent outdoors. Whether through travel, camping, or shared family experiences, access to the outdoors creates opportunities for connection, reset, and meaningful moments together.
The association is proud to support organizations like Campfire Circle that continue to make those experiences possible for families across Ontario.
