RVDA of Canada Board – 2025

The RVDA of Canada held its last board meeting in Las Vegas, NV. This meeting serves as our annual meeting.

Since our last meeting, RV City has been sold to Allan Dale RV & Trailers and as such, Dale Hopkins has stepped down. We thank Dale for his numerous years on the Board and wish him all the best for his future endeavours.

Our next meeting will take place on April 9, 2025, in Ottawa, ON.  We would normally be holding our advocacy day and Spark Street event on April 10, however, since the federal government is now dissolved, and the election is underway, we have decided to postpone the event until the fall.

Grassroots Advocacy re: tariffs

We have developed a Member Tariff Advocacy Kit to help members engage with policymakers, stakeholders and navigate through this critical issue. This kit is designed to provide the tools needed to effectively communicate the impact of tariffs on dealerships and the broader RV industry. The RVDA of Canada is continuing to work diligently and is encouraging our members to become engaged.  We will also be putting together an additional Election Tool Kit for members within the next few days.

NTP-Stag Canada RV Technician and Fixed Operations Personnel Bursary Program

Reminder: Bursaries are available.
NTP-Stag Canada
has committed to a renewed 2-year agreement, increasing their contribution to $16,000 per year for the RV Technician and Fixed Operations Personnel Bursary Program. Each year, RVDA of Canada will award one $5,000 bursary and nine $1,000 bursaries to eligible RV service technicians across all Canadian provinces who are enrolled in RV apprenticeship or related education programs. Additionally, four $500 bursaries will be awarded annually to RV dealerships or their staff who have completed approved fixed operation education programs.

2025 Skills Canada National Competition

The 2025 Skills Canada National Competition (SCNC) is coming to Saskatchewan! We will be looking for volunteers.

SCNC is the only national, multi-trade and technology competition for students and apprentices in the country. Each year, more than 550 competitors from all regions of Canada come to SCNC to participate in over 40 skilled trade and technology competitions.

The SCNC provides hands-on work experience related to skilled trade and technology careers, on top of being visited by thousands of young students. The RVDA of Canada, through our RV Careers initiative will once again be present to highlight the RV Service Technician Trade as well as other career opportunities in the industry.

  • Dates and Location: May 29-30, 2025, at the Regina Exhibition Association Limited (REAL) District.
  • Sponsorship: Participating as an “Empowering Women in Trades” (EWiT) sponsor.
  • Booth Details: A 100 sq. ft. booth will be set up for a “Try-a-Trade” activity.
