“We have been working on this project for nearly a year and were aiming to have it completed in time for the OVERLAND EXPO EAST in October, but we are a little ahead of schedule, so we are going to debut it at the RV Open House so potential dealers can experience it,” shares Scott Tuttle, owner of RS, “The larger of our two MOAB models is built on a former military vehicle chassis, making it without a doubt one of the most versatile and extreme terrain capable motorhomes on the market.”

Scott characterizes the MOAB as “an extreme offroad/off-grid motorhome, offering absolutely amazing capabilities for owners who seek to get off the grid.”  The MOAB unit systems are 100% electric, with no LP, and the unit’s industry leading solar panel and battery system is 48V, which is 4x more efficient than a 12V system.  It features a 17 Kilowatt energy storage system that will allow owners to spend extended periods of time off the grid while enjoying full use of the unit’s various systems, including the air conditioning.

The MOAB box can be installed on numerous chassis and platforms, and RS is planning on also showing a smaller model built on a FORD SUPER-DUTY 550 chassis at the Elkhart Open House.

The larger MOAB unit actually sits on floating platform which allows the box to twist and turn separately from the chassis as the vehicle traverses extremely rugged terrain with uneven surfaces. A nearly 8′ tall engine snorkel allows the MOAB to traverse deep waters, while the unit’s self-inflating/deflating 46” tires allow it to literally go anywhere.

“Alot of traditional motorhome manufacturers will put their traditional Class C model on a four wheel drive chassis and call it “offroad”, but many still have street tires and a pretty paint scheme like their typical units. The MOAB stands out from that crowd.  The extreme offroad market is unique, with customers looking for more off the grid capabilities that will allow them to truly go offroad and off-grid for extended periods of time. We have enlisted customers in this market to help us design the MOAB and we are confident that we have something unique to offer the market.” states Tuttle, “It is our hope that we will find a handful of dealers who want to carry the best option for this unique demographic of buyer and not just another motorhome.”

MOAB will be on display on C.R. 6, just West of C.R. 17.
