The first week of June is designated “RV Tech Week”, to acknowledge the dedication and hard work of service technicians in the RV industry.
The five-day event provides an opportunity to recognize the techs for their dedication, and to introduce prospective RV technicians to become part of this highly skilled group, who are essential to the growth of the RV industry at manufacturing as well as dealership levels.
The RVDA of Canada cites a 2021 study conducted by RBC titled “Powering Up: Preparing Canada’s Skilled Trades for a Post-Pandemic Economy,” to emphasize that Canada is expected to face a significant shortage of skilled tradespeople in the coming years.
It is predicted that an astonishing 700,000 skilled tradespeople will retire by 2028.
The opportunities for employment in a wide range of positions throughout the industry make the RV field a very attractive growth sector, especially for Gen Y and Gen Z individuals.
