During our Industry Group Session, CRVA and RVDA of Canada discussed working collaboratively on RV Technician Training Programs and ways to attract potential employees into the industry, both necessary initiatives given the current environment.
Attendees also engaged in full discussions on a wide range of topics, including market trends, industry challenges, Go RVing Canada’s influencer program with Bryan Baeumler, RV Industry future need for EV pull thru charging stations, and collectively, how we can provide better service to RV consumers.
Wholesale RV Shipments into Canada for the 3rd Quarter ending September 30th, 2023
The Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association recently reported that RV Wholesale Shipments into Canada for the 3rd Quarter ending September 30th, 2023 totalled 4,459 units compared to 10,269 in 2022, representing a decrease of 56.6% year over year.
According to Statistical Surveys, RVDA of Canada reported that Retail Activity during the 3rd Quarter totaled 11,329 units and when compared to the wholesale shipment figure of 4,459 Canadian RV Dealer Inventory levels continued to significantly decrease during the period which would be considered abnormal compared to historical stats.
CRVA commented on the report that “dealers continued to liquidate prior year inventory on hand combined with transportation delay issues contributed to the much higher than anticipated decrease during the quarter”.
RV Wholesale Shipments into Canada for 9 months ending September 30th was 19,865 vs 48,670 units in 2022 representing a decrease of 59.2% YTD. Please see full report below:

Transport Canada
Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association recently announced that the Canadian RV Industry’s ELD (Electronic Logging Device) Exemption Request had been approved by Transport Canada, effective October 19th, 2023. The Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association (CRVA) would like to thank the RV Dealers Association of Canada (RVDA of Canada), and the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) for the success of our 2-year lobbying efforts.
This critical decision by Transport Canada means that our members and stakeholders again have much-needed flexibility and efficiency essential for the unique demands of the RV transportation industry. CRVA announced that the RV industry in Canada was successful in obtaining an Electronic Logging Device (ELD) Exemption for RV Drive-Away/Tow-Away deliveries from Transport Canada.
We have received numerous inquiries from a number of individual/transportation companies after reading the Exemption and Conditions on who to contact as requested in the release and we take this chance to provide additional information
Please see links to the official release below:

We were excited to have been invited to attend the Atlantic RVDA’s Fall Board Meeting in Moncton, New Brunswick in October. We were extremely impressed with the number of attendees and the quality of speakers that the Association gathered for the benefit of the group.
It was a real pleasure seeing some old friends and meeting new ones! CRVA would like to again thank Ken Dobson and John Sutherland for the invitation to attend the Atlantic RVDA meeting!
