2026 ORVDA Associate of the Year Award
Each year, the Ontario RV Dealers Association (ORVDA) members nominate and select the Associate of the Year – recognizing an exceptional industry partner whose professionalism, expertise and commitment have made a lasting contribution to Ontario’s RV industry. The award honours individuals who go above and beyond to support ORVDA dealers, strengthen our businesses, and help move our industry forward.
This year’s roster of nominees for ORVDA Associate of the Year include: Steve Howlett, NTP Stag-Coast, Al Swerhun, Al’s RV service and repairs, and Rob Down, Atlas Trailer Coach Products.
In her presentation of the ORVDA Associate of the Year Award, Natalie Conway cited the following attributes that distinguish this year’s award recipient.
“Rob Down, of Atlas Trailer Coach Products, London, Ontario branch, has built a career that spans more than three decades, earning the trust and respect of dealers across Ontario through hard work, integrity and an unwavering commitment to customer service.”
“His journey began in the shipping and receiving department at Atlas Trailer Coach Products. From there, he worked his way through the organization, learning every aspect of the business before becoming Branch Manager of the London location. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to providing exceptional service and supporting the success of every dealer he works with.”
“But what truly sets this year’s recipient apart isn’t simply his experience—it’s the relationships he has built.”
“Those who know him know they can count on him. Whether it’s solving a problem, sharing his expertise, or helping a dealer find the right solution, he has built a reputation for being knowledgeable, dependable and always willing to lend a hand. Many of his customers have become lifelong friends, and he considers those relationships to be the greatest achievement of his career.”
His commitment extends beyond his role at Atlas.
“He has generously supported the ORVDA through his involvement on our AGM & Golf Committee and has consistently stepped forward to support initiatives that strengthen our Association and the dealers we represent. His willingness to give back reflects his belief in supporting the industry that has been his career for more than 30 years.”
“Like many great leaders, he is quick to recognize the people who helped him along the way. He credits his mentor, the late Garry Bewernick, for helping shape his career, and he is deeply grateful for the support of his colleagues, loyal customers and family.”
Perhaps that’s what makes him so deserving of this award.
Rob Down has never measured success by titles or recognition. Instead, he has built a career founded on professionalism, humility, and genuine care for the people around him. The respect he has earned throughout our industry is a reflection of the kind of person he is and the example he continues to set every day.
In his acceptance speech, Rob thanked the members of the Atlas team, and his wife – they will be celebrating their anniversary on Friday, August 21.
