Venture RV has been met with critical acclaim for their Stratus SR261VRK ultra-lite travel trailer.

The company won the “Best in Show” award for the third time, an award presented by RV News.

“Inventive storage was a deciding factor,” said Jessica Machetta RV News editor. “Who doesn’t love secret compartments? There’s a hidden headboard niche, a bedroom shelf that opens to a shirt closet, a flip-top end table and removable dinette storage bins. Exterior pass-through runs under the bed, and the 250-pound capacity cargo rack upgrades to a double kayak carrier.”

Curb appeal also played a factor in the decision to award Venture the “Best in Show” accolade.

“The bright colors stop traffic,” said Machetta. “Manufacturers fixate on front cap design, whereas Stratus has such a striking side view, and that’s what owners see the most.”

Dealer preference influenced exterior design according to Dave Boggs, Venture general manager.

“We chose dealers’ favourite colors Victory Red, Indigo Blue, Aztec Gray and Polar White,” said Boggs. “Gloss fiberglass is a staple of high-end RVs, so they’re thrilled to see it on affordable travel trailers.”

Inside, the ultra-lite travel trailer from Venture is extremely convenient. The walkthrough bath is common to fifth wheels, as is the roomy 34-inch shower and linen closet. There’s also a motion-lit walk-in pantry, U-shaped dinette across from the 64-inch sofa or optional theater seats, and an entertainment center with built-in fireplace. The rear kitchen has an 8-cubic-foot refrigerator and double under-mount sink. Mixed woodwork in Alpine White and dark Mountain Walnut complete the sleek contemporary appeal.

“Our employees camp, and a lot of their practical, user-friendly ideas went into the design. Teamwork and inspiration made Stratus a reality, and no one else offers anything like it.”

The company says Stratus fills the gap between Sonic and SportTrek, with dry weight for the SR261VRK of 5,850 pounds and an MSRP of $31,605, depending on options.
