Ken Dobson from Leisure Time Sales as Chairman of the Board

Richmond, BC, November 17, 2025 – Ken Dobson of Leisure Time Sales Ltd. in Quispamsis, New Brunswick has been elected as the new Chairman of the Board of the Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA) of Canada.
Ken Dobson represents the third generation of leadership within the Dobson Group, a family-owned collection of retail businesses based in New Brunswick, with operations in the RV, automotive, housing, and outdoor equipment sectors. He currently serves as General Manager of the Group’s RV Division, which includes three locations operating under the Leisure Time Sales and RV World brands.
Leisure Time Sales, founded in 1973, stands as the matriarch company of the Dobson Group and the cornerstone of its success. Like many family-run dealerships, the business was both a livelihood and a lifestyle – the family home sat in front of the store, and it was there that Ken’s connection to the RV industry began. Following in the footsteps of his father and uncles, he grew up surrounded by customers, technicians, and the daily rhythm of dealership life, learning early the value of hard work, service, and relationships.
Over the two decades with the Dobson Group, including twelve years dedicated specifically to the RV Division.
Ken has worked across nearly every corner of the business, from frontline sales and operations to management and strategic leadership. His approach blends traditional family values with modern business principles, emphasizing process, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Today, he leads a division recognized for its culture and performance, guiding it to three RV Business Top 50 Dealer Awards for excellence in operations, customer experience, and team development.
Ken’s connection to the RV industry extends beyond the dealership. He has served with the Atlantic RV Dealers Association for more than a decade, including terms as President and Past President, and has been an active member of the RVDA of Canada Board since 2019. His appointment as Chairman continues a proud family legacy of service within the association, he is the third member of the Dobson family to serve on the national board and the second to hold the position of Chairman. This continuity reflects the family’s longstanding commitment to the industries it works in and the importance of dealer-led leadership within RVDA of Canada.
Before turning his attention to the family business, Ken built a distinguished career in hockey, a foundation that continues to shape his leadership style today. He served as both an employee and coach with Hockey Canada, leading teams to a Telus Cup National Final, the Canada Winter Games, and the World Under-17 Championship. His dedication to the sport earned him multiple Coach of the Year honors and the Queen’s Jubilee Medal for outstanding contribution to Canadian hockey. The lessons learned through years of coaching, teamwork, accountability, preparation, and culture, remain central to how he leads both people and businesses.
Grounded in his Maritime roots, Ken is proud to represent Atlantic Canada within the national leadership of the RVDA. He lives in Quispamsis, New Brunswick, with his family and remains committed to strengthening the Canadian RV industry through collaboration, innovation, and a deep respect for the family businesses that form its foundation.
