CRVA’s 50th Anniversary in 2025

As part of our 50th anniversary celebration, the Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association (CRVA) is hitting the road in a big way throughout the year—with a national RV giveaway in support of Care Camps Foundation, a charity that helps children with cancer attend medically supervised oncology camps.

At the heart of the campaign is a beautifully wrapped 2025 25’ Citation Reward Travel Trailer, generously donated by General Coach Canada. The RV was officially unveiled at the Toronto Spring Camping and RV Show in February, drawing thousands of showgoers eager to learn more and who were encouraged to purchase tickets in support of the cause. From Toronto, the RV made its way east to the Moncton RV Show.

Starting in June 2025, CRVA will take the RV on a cross-country tour, making stops at events and campgrounds on its western journey to promote the RV lifestyle and CRVA’s 50th anniversary while helping to raise funds and awareness for Care Camps.

For those able, tickets are available now, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to Care Camps Foundation. It’s a meaningful way for Canadians to celebrate the spirit of RVing while helping children and families in need. The Toronto Spring Camping and RV Show, held from February 27 to March 2, 2025, welcomed just under 25,000 attendees to The International Centre in Mississauga. The event marked the official kickoff to the Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association’s 50th birthday celebrations.

This year’s show featured a strong lineup of educational speakers and industry voices. CRVA was pleased to welcome Toby O’Rourke, President and CEO of Kampgrounds of America (KOA), as the keynote speaker at the RV Women’s Alliance Exhibitor Breakfast.

Toby’s presentation highlighted key trends KOA is seeing in camping participation across North America, including the rise of younger and more diverse campers. Toby also spoke about the opportunities for dealers and campgrounds to work together to meet changing consumer expectations and improve the overall camping and RV experience — a message that clearly resonated with attendees.

On the Xtended Warranty Big Stage, attendees also heard from Michael McNaught, co-founder of RVezy, as well as RV content creators Ben and Cheryl from Camping with the Coles, Dan and Melina of The RV Canucks, and Frankie and Alex from FNA Vanlife. Each brought a unique perspective on RV travel, lifestyle, and building community within the RV space and we were thrilled to have them all join us this year.

Finally… a note on the tariff situation

The North American Recreational Vehicle (RV) industry has long benefitted from a strong, seamless trading relationship with the United States. Since the introduction of the Free Trade Agreement in 1989, the foundation of this relationship has facilitated RVs, parts, and components to move efficiently and on a timely basis across our border.

This free trading environment has not only supported a healthy RV marketplace, but has also ensured that Canadian and US consumers have access to high-quality, competitively priced recreational vehicles and products.

The Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association and the RVDA of Canada have expressed our deep concern about recent developments to the contrary and the threat to undermine decades of cooperation that has allowed our sector to flourish.

As CRVA celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, it is a time to reflect on what has made this industry so strong: collaboration, innovation, and open trade. We are urging policymakers in Canada and the United States to recognize the critical importance of restoring and protecting free trade for the RV industry.

Doing so will not only help protect the economic well-being of our RV manufacturers, suppliers, and dealers on both sides of our border, but will also ensure that families across North America can continue to enjoy the freedom, well-being, and connection to nature that the RV lifestyle truly provides.

The future of our industry depends on it.
