Meet the nominees for the 37th Annual Walt Paseska Memorial Canadian RV Dealer of the Year Award
Each year the RVDA of Canada and Canadian regional RVDAs, in conjunction with RV Lifestyle Magazine and RV Dealer News, invite nominations from across Canada for the Canadian RV Dealer of the Year Award. The award is dedicated to the memory of the late Walt Paseska, founder of Walt’s Trailer Sales in Headingley, Manitoba, in recognition of his many years of commitment and dedication to the RV industry.
Established in 1989, this award has been presented to individuals who share Walt’s legendary enthusiasm and commitment to the industry; who have made a long-term contribution to the RV lifestyle; and who have supported their community as a whole through charitable or philanthropic activities.
Each of the provincial RVDA organizations presents their nominees to the RVDA of Canada selection committee, who evaluate the nominees and select the Canadian RV Dealer of the Year. For 2026 three individuals have been nominated for this honour, and we are pleased to introduce them here.
As General Manager of Transcona Trailer Sales Ltd in Winnipeg, Travis Bromley has spent more than two decades growing within his family’s dealership, taking on roles in parts, service and sales before moving into leadership. He continues a family legacy spanning 60 years in Winnipeg’s RV industry.
His contributions extend well beyond dealership operations. Travis has served on the RVDA of Manitoba Board of Directors and the Manitoba RV Show Committee, and represents Manitoba on the RVDA of Canada Board of Directors. He also helped bring the Manitoba RV and Marine Shows together into one event, creating new opportunities to connect with outdoor enthusiasts.

For more than four decades, John Petrie has helped shape the Canadian RV industry through dealership leadership, industry service and a strong commitment to his community.
John joined his family’s business, Niagara Trailers Ltd. in 1980 and assumed day-to-day leadership in 2002. Since then, the dealership has grown substantially and earned notable recognition, including 10 consecutive years as Canada’s No. 1 KZ dealer.
His contributions also include service on the Ontario RV Dealers Association Board of Directors, as Treasurer and on its Show Committee, along with ongoing involvement in its Membership Committee. Beyond the industry, John and Niagara Trailers have supported community organizations, local charities and youth initiatives throughout the Niagara region.
This nomination carries a special family connection. John’s father, Doug Petrie Sr., received the Canadian RV Dealer of the Year Award in 1989. John’s nomination recognizes his longstanding contributions to the business, the industry and the community.

Congratulations to Richard Taché of Earlton RV on his nomination for the 2026 Canadian RV Dealer of the Year award.
Richard’s career reflects a commitment to customer service, business growth and active industry involvement.
Since purchasing Earlton RV in 2010, he has expanded the business to include three additional stores and a campground. His contributions also extend beyond his own operations through his involvement with Ontario RVDA.
His nomination recognizes a career shaped by integrity, dedication and a commitment to the Canadian RV industry.
