Compete for Kids Canada will begin September 1, marking the start of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.  Throughout the month, RV dealerships across Canada will be invited to engage employees, customers, and their local communities in a friendly fundraising competition, with proceeds supporting Canadian pediatric oncology camps.

The campaign builds on Compete for Kids, launched by Care Camps Foundation in the United States in 2025 in partnership with the national RV Dealers Association (RVDA). Following its success, Forest River and Care Camps Foundation are expanding the initiative into Canada, giving dealers another way to make a meaningful impact through the communities they serve.

Jason Hershberger - Forest River Inc., has joined the board at Care Camps.

“Our dealers are an important part of the communities they serve, and Compete for Kids Canada gives us an opportunity to come together around something bigger than our business,” said Jason Hershberger, General Manager. “At Forest River, we believe in creating opportunities for people to get outside, connect and make meaningful memories together. That shared commitment is what makes our work with Care Camps so impactful, and we’re proud to help bring this campaign to Canada.”

Forest River has an established relationship with Care Camps Foundation, making a donation with every Forest River product sold helping support the organization’s work in the United States and Canada. The partnership reflects a shared connection to the outdoors and gives children and families the opportunity to experience connection, adventure, and time together.

Care Camps Foundation supports pediatric oncology camps designed for children living with cancer and their families.  These camps provide medically supported environments where children can take part in outdoor activities, connect with others who share similar experiences, and enjoy time away from the routines of treatment and medical care.

Compete for Kids Canada builds on that work by giving RV dealerships a direct role in fundraising. Dealerships can organize activities that best fit their businesses and communities, including employee fundraisers, customer events, dealership promotions, and other local efforts. Participants will also be recognized based on their fundraising totals, with Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond achievement levels.

“Canadian RV dealers are deeply connected to the communities they serve, which makes them an incredible part of this effort,” said Alison Stovold, Canadian Manager, Care Camps Foundation. “Compete for Kids Canada brings dealers, employees and customers together around a shared purpose: helping more children with cancer experience the friendship, adventure and sense of belonging that camp provides.”

Registration for Compete for Kids Canada is now open to Canadian RV dealerships, with fundraising beginning September 1.
